The Organic Content Standard (OCS) applies to any non-food product that contains 5 to 100% organic material. It verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product. In addition, OCS tracks the flow of a raw material from its origin to the final product. This process is then certified by an accredited third party. OCS relies on a third-party verification to confirm that an end product contains the precise amount of an organically grown material. OCS enables transparent, consistent and comprehensive assessment and verification of organic material content claims in products. The OCS covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, marketing and distribution of a product that contains at least 5% certified organic materials. It can be used as a business-to-business tool to ensure they are selling quality products and getting their money's worth.
The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is used as a chain of custody standard to track recycled raw materials in the supply chain. The standard was developed through work done by the Materials Traceability Working Group, part of the OIA's Sustainability Working Group. The RCS verifies the presence and amount of a recycled material in a final product. This occurs through third-party verification of inputs and the chain of custody. It enables transparent, consistent, comprehensive and independent assessment and verification of recycled material content claims in products. RCS can be used as a business-to-business tool to ensure they are selling quality products and getting their money's worth. It is also used as a way to ensure accurate and honest communication with consumers. This includes ginning, spinning, weaving and knitting, dyeing and printing and sewing businesses.
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the best-known labels in the world for textile products tested for the presence of harmful substances. It means trust for the customer and high product security. If a textile article bears the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label, you can be sure that all components of this article, i.e. all threads, buttons and other accessories, have been tested for the presence of harmful substances and that it is harmless in human ecological terms. Tests are performed based on an extensive and rigorous catalog of OEKO-TEX® criteria, which is reviewed and updated annually. These tests take into account numerous regulated and unregulated substances, which can be harmful to human health. In many cases, the STANDARD 100 limit values go beyond national and international requirements. Product certification according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is modular. Textile items can be tested and certified at any stage of the process, including the production of accessories. Through the recognition of previous certificates it is possible to have a saving of testing costs in subsequent certifications. The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certificate also works, for several companies, as proof of compliance with the required supply conditions. In summary, whether it's baby items, clothing, home textiles or decorative materials, products with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label are synonymous with trust.
